Abel Izquierdo

The paintings presented here do not merely engage with theatrical scenography; they also feature subtle characters that transition from one canvas to another, actively participating in the unfolding narrative. These figures, often near-imperceptible, embody an ambiguous presence—at times remaining static, at others gliding enigmatically through the compositions. This duality between the visible and the invisible is central to my conceptual approach, as it introduces multiple layers of interpretation and fosters a space for uncertainty. Consequently, the viewer is confronted with a representative simulacrum that, through its playful or disconcerting tone, invites a profound reflection on social conventions and the boundaries of morality.
